Paying and getting paid

HuriaSoko never handles your money. Buyers and sellers agree on a price and pay each other directly — usually with mobile money. Tap any payment method below to see supported countries, limits and the seller details you need.

Never send money in advance to someone you have not met. Meet in a public place, inspect the item, then pay. Anyone in Personals asking for money is a scammer — report them.

Cross-border payments

Trading across borders? These pan-African networks connect mobile money wallets, banks and remittance operators across the region:

Central-bank settlement rails

  • Central-bank rail linking Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. Lets banks settle in local EAC currencies (KES, UGX, TZS, RWF, BIF) same-day without routing through USD.

  • Continent-wide rail from Afreximbank and the AfCFTA. Pay in your currency, the seller is paid in theirs, settled between central banks — useful for DRC, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Somalia trade outside the EAC bloc.

These rails run bank-to-bank, so ask your bank whether it is a member before agreeing to a cross-border transfer.
